Managing accounts for deceased users
We understand that addressing the account of a deceased member is a sensitive matter, and we sincerely extend our condolences.
Cantina may assist verified representatives with certain account-related requests. Please review the available options and documentation requirements below.
Available actions
Upon verification, Cantina may support one of the following actions:
1. Account closure: Permanent deletion of the deceased user’s account, including associated content and bots, consistent with our Terms of Service and data retention policies.
2. Bot ownership and transfer: In limited circumstances, and subject to review, Cantina may transfer ownership of bots created by the deceased user to a designated Cantina account holder.
Bot transfers are not automatic and may be declined if inconsistent with our policies, intellectual property rights, or user agreements. The designated recipient must have an active Cantina account and provide their username.
