Illegal Activities

Cantina does not permit the use of its platform , including its AI-powered tools, to engage in, promote, coordinate, or facilitate illegal activity.

Users who violate this policy may be subject to content removal, feature restrictions, suspension, or permanent account termination. Where required by law or where credible harm is identified, Cantina may cooperate with appropriate authorities.

What violates this policy?

The following conduct is prohibited::

Fraud & Deception

• Phishing, identity theft, impersonation for financial gain
• Financial scams or investment schemes
• Coordinated fraud or social engineering
• Using bots or AI tools to generate fraudulent content

Controlled Substances

• Selling, distributing, or facilitating access to illegal drugs or controlled substances
• Providing instructions for producing or distributing illegal drugs

Weapons & Explosives

• Selling or transferring firearms, ammunition, explosives, or controlled weapons in violation of applicable laws
• Providing instructions for manufacturing prohibited weapons

Child Exploitation & Abuse

• Any content involving child sexual abuse, exploitation, or trafficking

Human Trafficking & Exploitation

• Promoting, coordinating, or facilitating human trafficking or sexual exploitation

Terrorism & Extremism

• Recruiting for, supporting, or coordinating with terrorist organizations
• Facilitating violent extremist activity

Hacking & System Abuse

• Distributing malware
• Coordinating hacking or unauthorized system access
• Sharing instructions that meaningfully enable illegal cyber activity

Intellectual Property Violations

• Distributing pirated software, media, or other copyrighted materials without authorization
• This policy applies across all areas of Cantina, including user accounts, rooms, messages, usernames, bot behavior, and AI-generated media.

Context matters 

Discussion of illegal topics for educational, documentary, journalistic, or fictional purposes may be allowed, provided the content does not promote, endorse, or meaningfully facilitate unlawful conduct.

Cantina evaluates content based on context, intent, and real-world risk. Violations may result in content removal, account warnings or restrictions, temporary suspensions, permanent account termination.

AI & Illegal activity

Users may not use Cantina’s AI tools to generate, simulate, automate, or scale illegal activity. Attempts to test or bypass safeguards to produce unlawful outputs may result in enforcement action.

Reporting violations

If you encounter content or behavior that appears to involve illegal activity, please report it using our in-app reporting tools. If you are a room admin and you have concerns about activity in your room, you can also use our self-moderation tools in addition to reporting potential violations to us. Our Trust & Safety team reviews all reports and takes appropriate action.
