What are Room Roles?
Assigning roles to members depending on their level of involvement or the tasks you want them to be responsible for can make managing your Cantina room easier.
These are default room roles for moderated rooms but can be fully customizable based on if room moderation is turned on or off.
ROLE PERMISSIONS Room Founder - Determines group identity
- Sets initial room privacy settings, and can make additional edits
- Assigns room roles
Admin - Manages membership of the room and can assign room roles
- Can edit room settings and permissions
Host
- Controls the stage
- Can add and remove members
- Can delete room history
Member
- Can send reactions and GIFs
- Able to signal other members to enter the room (iOS only)
- Can send chat messages and post media
- Can request to join the stage

How to Create a Room
The first step to engaging with your friends in the Cantina is to create a room.
Creating a room on iOS and Android:
- Open the Cantina app.

Tap
Create Room at the bottom.
- Select whether your room will be Open, Social, or Invite Only. You can also choose to Create a Quick Room.
- Set the Room Permissions according to your preference, then tap Continue.
- Select your Room Photo, Room Color, Room Name, and Room Font, then tap Create Room.
- Add a brief description about your room (optional) and set the tone by updating the Content Policy, then tap Continue.
- Invite members to your room by clicking on the photo of the member you wish to invite, or typing in their name. Scroll down to invite people who are in your contacts but not on Cantina, yet Then click Continue.
- Next, if you have invited members to your room, you will have the option to add Room Hosts by tapping Invite on the profile of the member you wish to make a host. Then click Continue.
- Finally, tap the Room Card to be directed to your room.
Creating a room on the Web:
- Go to web.cantina.com.

Create Room on the left side of the screen.
- Select whether your room will be Open, Social, or Invite Only. You can also choose to Create a Quick Room.
- Set the Room Permissions according to your preference, then tap Continue.
- Select your Room Photo, Room Color, Room Name, and Room Font, Add Room Description (optional), and set the tone by updating the Content Policy, then tap Create Room.
- Invite members to your room, then click Continue to be automatically directed to your room.

What are Room Card Settings?
You can customize your Cantina Room’s settings to exactly what your group needs. The icons on the left side of each room card reveal what type of room you’re about to enter.
Accessibility
Who can enter the room?
Open Anyone can join this room Social Friends of Members can join this room Invite Only You must request to join this room. Visibility
Who can see the room?
Everyone Everyone can see this room. Friends of Members Friends of Members can see this room. Members Only Only Members can see this room. Moderation
Who can activate their camera/mic?
Moderated Members must request to use their camera/mic. Unmoderated All members can automatically use their camera/mic. Signal
Who can signal the room?
All Members All members can signal members into the room. Hosts/Admins only Only Hosts & Admins can signal members into the room.
