Managing Your Video Chat

Cantina’s video chat feature allows up to 16 people to be live on stage at the same time. The room’s creator and admin can choose who is permitted to go on stage by adjusting the room's permission settings. Additionally, members can request to go live, or you can manually invite them onto the stage.  

VIDEO CHAT

Setting video chat permission on iOS:

1. Inside your room, click on the room name at the top of the screen.
2. Tap Edit Room. 
3. Tap Moderation Settings.
4. Toggle Go Live Requests to enable requests to go live in the room.
5. Under Go Live, adjust who can turn on their camera and microphone in the room. 
6. Navigate back to Room Settings and tap Done in the top right corner to lock and save the change to settings.

Setting video chat permission on Android:

1. Inside your room, click on the room name at the top of the screen.
2. Click the for more. 
3. Tap Edit Room Settings. 
4. Tap Permissions. 
5. Toggle Requests for Stage on to enable requests to go live in the room.
6. Under Broadcast Camera / Mic, adjust who can turn on their camera and microphone in the room.

Setting video chat permission on Web:

1. Inside your room, click on the room name at the top of the screen.
2. Click the for more. 
3. Tap Edit Room Settings. 
4. Tap Permissions. 
5. Toggle Stage Requests on to enable requests to go live in the room.
6. Under Broadcast Camera / Mic, adjust who can turn on their camera and microphone in the room.

REQUEST TO GO LIVE

To request to go live on stage on iOS, Android, and Web:

1. Inside your room, tap on Wave to the right of the chat box. You will not see the Wave if the room’s permissions are not set to allow members to request to go live. 
2. Review the guidelines for going live and tap Request. 
3. If your request is approved, you will see a message that prompts you to turn on your mic and camera. 

FEATURE OR SPOTLIGHT

To Feature or to Spotlight a member:

1. iOS

• Long hold the profile picture of the member you would like to feature on stage.
• Select  Feature, and the member’s live video tile will now be featured on stage. 

2. Android

• Long hold the profile picture of the member you would like to feature on stage.
• Select Spotlight, and the member’s live video tile will now be featured on stage. 

3. Web:

• Hover over the video tile of the member you would like to spotlight on stage.
• Click the to open up a menu.
• Click Spotlight, and the member’s live video tile will now be featured on stage.

To remove a member from the stage on iOS:

• Hold the video tile or profile picture of the member you want to remove from the stage. 
• Select Unfeature, and they will be instantly removed from the stage.

To remove a member from the stage on Android and Web:

• Click Remove Spotlight on a member’s photo to remove them from the stage.
